UNT-DEEN Advisory Board

Purpose

The Advisory Board serves to advocate and empower under-represented minority populations in engineering. Professional organizations of SHPE-SWE-NSBE in UNT engineering will represent the students at UNT. The advisory board will help UNT-DEEN strengthen its programs, expand its base of support, and serve future and current UNT students in engineering and computing fields. Board members provide guidance, advocacy and support for UNT-DEEN, as it strives to meet the program mission.

Structure

The advisory board will be led by the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs supporting both undergraduate and graduate student success.  The board will comprise corporate, government, university, and education members from whom a leadership council will be created. The leadership council of the advisory group will be formed representing the SWE, SHPE, NSBE student president, faculty advisor, industry liaison and alumni liaison. This leadership group will establish the terms, expectations and responsibilities of the advisory board.
