The FE exam is generally your first step in the process to becoming a professional licensed engineer (P.E.). It is designed for recent graduates and students who are close to finishing an undergraduate engineering degree from an EAC/ABET-accredited program.

The College of Engineering is offering support and encouragement to students to do the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).

Steps to take:

  1. Register for a free account.
  2. The exam is taken online with a provision of a handbook containing all equations and information. You can access that handbook after you register for an account. You can register for taking the exam later but registering for an account provides you with the handbook.
  3. Review the breakdown of problems for the various subjects (Mechanical, Civil, General etc) at this link https://ncees.org/engineering/fe/.
