Mohanty named to IEEE Consumer Technology Society board

Saraju Mohanty, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, was recently elected to the IEEE Consumer Technology Society Board of Governors.

One of 39 IEEE societies, the Consumer Technology Society focuses on the engineering and research aspects of theory, design, construction and manufacturing of electronics, systems, software, and services for consumers.

As part of Mohanty’s new role, he will help assist with the society’s budget, award selection, and annual conference. He will also help appoint the editor-in-chief of the transactions and magazine as well as the conference organizing committee.

“I am very honored and humbled to be selected for this new role and am excited to see what this coming year brings,” said Mohanty.

Mohanty’s appointment to the board is a three-year term.
