The DOE Office of Science has announced the FY 2025 Continuation of Solicitation for the Office of Science Financial Assistance Program (annual “Open Call”). It invites applications for funding in the following program areas:
The NSF Safety, Security, and Privacy of Open-Source Ecosystems (Safe-OSE) program (NSF 24-608) aims to tackle vulnerabilities in open-source ecosystems (OSEs), both software and non-software, that could be exploited to compromise users and their operations.
This program differs from NSF's Dear Colleague Letter on open-source software security (NSF 23-149), which focuses on fundamental cybersecurity research. Instead, Safe-OSE emphasizes proactive measures in existing, mature OSEs. Eligible proposals can cover a diverse range of OSEs, including software, scientific methodologies, manufacturing processes, and more.
