Priyanka Agrawal

Dr. Agrawal is an expert in the mechanical behavior of materials and transmission electron microscopy (> 15 years), working on materials used in automobile, aerospace, ballistic, and nuclear applications. She is proficient in evaluating the deformation mechanisms for advanced manufacturing processes like additive manufacturing and friction stir processing, via microstructure and property correlation and analytical modeling, as reflected in her ~40 publications in high-impact journals and is a Reviewer for many journals.

• Mechanical behavior of materials: Creep, Fatigue (Cyclic & Dwell), Constant strain rate tests, testing under magnetic field
• Advance processing techniques: Friction stir processing (FSP), Additive Manufacturing in fusion and solid-state
• Electron Microscopy: Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), EBSD (SEM based orientation image mapping (OIM)), Focused Ion Beam (FIB), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Precession Electron Diffraction (PED - TEM based OIM), Atom Probe Tomography (APT)
• Systems: High Entropy alloys, Titanium alloys, Al alloys, Ni-based superalloys Cobalt-based superalloys, Magnesium alloys, Steel, Refractory alloys not limited to W, Nb, Ta-base AM alloys
• Studying the materials for nuclear applications – High entropy alloys, 316 SS, ODS alloys
• Microstructure-Property correlation and Modeling using the experimental and theoretical approach
