Saraju Mohanty, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, recently received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The award recognizes engineers in a leadership position who have demonstrated more than six years of excellence in shaping the IEEE-CS research or community growth. The candidate must also be an IEEE senior member or fellow.
Mohanty's research focuses on smart electronic systems, and has received funding for his work from the National Science Foundation, Semiconductor Research Corporation, US Air Force and Indo-US Technology Forum.
Mohanty also is involved in a variety of IEEE initiatives, including serving on the IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics (TCE) editorial board, serving as editor-in-chief of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, and as chair of the Technical Committee on Very Large Scale Integration (TCVLSI).
