Banerjee receives presidential professorship

Raj Banerjee

UNT Regents Professor Raj Banerjee has received a presidential professorship for his contributions to the university, the College of Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

Having received more than $10 million in research funding at UNT, Banerjee has played a significant role in the development of UNT's nationally-ranked materials science and engineering department and its Materials Research Facility.

"Raj has been instrumental in the development of the Materials Research Facility here at UNT and is an international leader in metal alloys and processing," said Hanchen Huang, dean of the College of Engineering. "He is truly an exemplary member of our faculty."
