Welcome to the UNT College of Engineering,
a young and vibrant college at a top tier (R1) university.
The College of Engineering is a special place, situated in a unique, 500,000 square foot facility with five outstanding departments all under one roof. Facilitated by our common location, we pursue research excellence in four strategic and cross-disciplinary areas: Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI), Autonomous Systems, Materials and Advanced Manufacturing, and Healthcare Innovations. Our faculty and student efforts in these areas are supported by world-class facilities in additive manufacturing, biomedical engineering, air mobility (drone) testing, and materials characterization, among others, and this research is supported by a range of state, federal, and industrial sponsors.
The College has a vibrant student population with over 7,000 students and more than 300 doctoral students enrolled. In total, the College of Engineering offers 5 doctoral, 10 master's, and 11 bachelor's degree programs in biomedical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical and energy engineering, construction engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, construction management, and engineering management, which prepare our students to compete in today's global market. Multiple graduate track options offer accelerated pathways for undergraduate students to earn a master’s and doctoral degree, while several interdisciplinary certificates allow students to broaden their experience as part of their degree plan.
Our students have opportunities to work on senior design capstone projects supported by our corporate sponsors in DFW, build valuable career experience through internships in the DFW area and beyond, and work with our outstanding faculty on undergraduate research experiences. Targeted student support for advising and career planning helps to guide our students through their academic experience and prepare them for their future careers. Our UNT STEM@thePark initiative and summer camp activities bring K-12 students from all over DFW together with UNT Engineering students and faculty to learn more about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
UNT Engineering is the first step on an exciting journey toward a rewarding career in DFW, the State of Texas, the U.S., or globally. I invite you to explore your future with UNT Engineering.
Go Mean Green!
