Why MEchanical Engineering at UNT?

Our mechanical and energy programs prepare students for a green future and ever-growing fields of energy and sustainability. The ET programs are strongly based on applications of advanced technology to solve engineering problems.

Majors & Minors

The departments offers undergraduate students BS and BSET degrees as well as minors and certificate programs.

What's the Difference?

Mechanical & Energy Engineering: undergrads who choose to pursue this degree will combine the fundamentals of mechanical engineering with a specialization in subjects related to energy production, management, and distribution. Our graduates will learn fundamental and applied knowledge compatible with mechanical engineering, renewable energy, energy modeling, manufacturing and fossil fuels.
Engineering Technology: our ET programs are strongly based on advanced applications of technology to solve engineering problems. They introduce experiential learning activities in virtually every course and emphasize hands-on laboratory activities without the abstract manipulation of mathematics.

Admissions

The priority deadline for the University of North Texas is March 1st. Students must apply to the university and once they have been admitted their application is forwarded to the College of Engineering for review.
