UNT BS in Cybersecurity SACS Accreditation (December 2024)

UNT has earned the Academic Excellence Award. The UNT BS in Cybersecurity scored 100/100 for the SACS accreditation. Only 16/400 programs achieved a perfect score. Mark Thompson helped with working towards the SACS accreditation.

UNT Cybersecurity Researchers to Modernize Department of Defense Hiring (November 2024)

UNT has received the opportunity to work with the U.S. Department of Defense in refining the DoD's hiring process. This grant of $2.1 milltion dollars will be utilized to develop an model to help achieve the DoD's goal.

CAE-R (Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Research) Designation (October 2024)
UNT has achieved a CAE-R (Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Research) designation. This achievement was awarded by the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity.
Shakila Zaman achieved Third Place at the IEEE MetroCon Poster Presentation (August 2024)
Congratulations to Shakila Zaman who achieved third place with a $500 cash prize at the IEEE MetroCon Poster Presentation. This event was organized by IEEE MetroCon Fort Worth Section, Texas, USA. The title of the winning poster is "Making Cryptocurrency Translatable using Atomic Swaps".
Thomas McCullough and Leslie Delval achieved Second Place at the USICOC Spirit of Innovation (April 2024)
Congratulations to both Thomas McCullough and Leslie Delval who achieved second place in the USICOC Spirit of Innovation Competition. The team's paper, "SAVI: Skill Alignment for Vocational Intelligence" earned them a $3,000 cash prize for second place in the competition.
Sirisha Talapuru achieved Fifth Place in the Spirit of Innovation Competition (April 2024)
Congratulations to Sirisha Talapuru who achieved fifth place with a $250 cash prize in the USICOC Spirit of Innovation Competition. The title of her winning paper is "Sales Genie".
Shriyaa Balaji achieved Second Place in TJAS Competition (Feburary 2024)

Congratulations to Shriyaa Balaji, a Texas academy of Mathematics & Science program (TAMS) student for achieving second place in the Texas Junior Academy of Science (TJAS) competition. The topic of research is "AI-based Legal Contract Interpretations for Generation of Smart Contracts".

Best research paper award: The Fourth International Conference on Blockchain Computing and Application (BCCA) (Sep 13, 2022)

Congratulations to Syed Badruddoja, who is currently a PhD student in Network Security Lab. His co-authored paper (Syed Badruddoja, Ram Dantu, Yanyan He, Abiola Salau, Kritagya Upadhyay, and Mark Thompson, “Making Smart Contracts Predict and Scale”) has received the best research paper award at the Fourth International Conference on Blockchain Computing and Applications (BCCA 2022), September 4-6, 2022, San Antonio, Texas, USA. After all the presentations (40 accepted papers), the organizers announced the best paper award.

Congratulations to NSL Director Dr. Ram Dantu for being a 2017 Technology Inventor finalist at the Tech Titans Gala on August 25, 2017! The Technology Inventor Award recognizes the pioneering accomplishment of a person, team or group responsible for the creation of breakthrough ideas, processes or products which have advanced the discipline(s) of the arts, education, electronics, energy, engineering, environment, medicine and/or science. Dr. Dantu was one of four people nominated for the Technology Inventor Award.
