Who Can Apply
New and existing graduate students in Biomedical Engineering
The BMEN Research Scholarship will be available in Fall 2025. Two scholarships of
$1000 each, will be awarded on a competitive basis every year, subject to availability
of funds.
Criteria for Application
New graduate student application criteria (minimum):
- Admitted or enrolled as a new graduate student in BMEN
- Should have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.7/4.0 (copy of transcripts required)
- Should register for at least 9 SCH towards MS/Ph.D. in BMEN degree
- Should be willing to conduct research towards a thesis/dissertation in any area of
Biomedical Engineering
- Should provide a statement of research interest
- One letter of recommendation for MS student
- Two letters of recommendation for Ph.D. student
- Should not have received any other scholarship or assistantship
Existing graduate student application criteria (minimum):
- Should be enrolled for at least 9 SCH towards MS/Ph.D. in BMEN degree
- Should have completed at least one semester at UNT BMEN
- Should have UNT graduate GPA of at least 3.5/4.0
- Should be willing to conduct research towards a thesis/dissertation in any area of
Biomedical Engineering
- Should provide a statement of research interest
- One letter of recommendation from UNT BMEN faculty for MS student
- Two letters of recommendation from UNT BMEN faculty for Ph.D. student
- Should not have received any other scholarship or assistantship
