
The R. Krishnaswami Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Biomedical Engineering is
a fund established by Mr. Mukund Krishna in honor of his father R. Krishnaswami and
to provide merit-based scholarships to M.S. or Ph.D. students in biomedical engineering
who demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset. Mukund and his wife, Revathi are successful
entrepreneurs and the founders of Good Work Capital Partners. They will offer mentorship
to the scholarship award winners.

Requirements
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant for the Scholarship must meet the following
criteria:
- Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the University
(or its successor) in effect at the time of any award;
- Maintain full-time enrollment as established by the University, unless the student
is nearing completion of their degree program and does not need full-time enrollment;
- Enroll as a graduate student in biomedical engineering (or its successor); M.S. students
will have a minor in business focused on entrepreneurship and Ph.D. students are enrolled
in the unique startup Ph.D. track offered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering
(or its successor);
- Have a GPA of at least a 3.5 on 4.0 scale (or its equivalent); and
- Submit a 200-word minimum essay on their proposed entrepreneurial plans after completion
of their degree in biomedical engineering.
Benefits
- Stipends: Up to two recipients will receive stipends of $1000 each, providing financial
support for their graduate studies depending on the endowment growth annually.
- Mentoring: Mukund and Revathi Krishna Charitable Foundation principals will be available
for post-graduation mentoring if required.
This scholarship is part of an initiative by the Mukund and Revathi Krishna Charitable
Fund.
