Welcome to the Smart CyberSpace (SCS) Research Group!

At the Smart CyberSpace (SCS) Research Group, we are passionate about shaping the future of secure, resilient, and correctly managed cyberspaces (digital environments). Our mission is to advance the science and engineering while empowering people, devices, and systems to thrive in increasingly interconnected and autonomous cyberspaces. Central to our work is the development of innovative solutions that manage and protect smart technologies — from everyday Internet of Things (IoT) devices to complex autonomous platforms, especially drones — against evolving threats.

Our research spans a broad, multidisciplinary landscape that includes:

🔐 Cybersecurity Foundations and Applied Defense: We investigate novel methods to detect, prevent, and mitigate cyber threats across networks and devices.

🌐 Internet of Things (IoT), Operational Technologies (OTs), and Industrial IoT (IIoT) Security: We analyze security risks in IoT ecosystems and design frameworks that make connected systems more trustworthy and resilient. We especially emphasize the use of Zero Trust Architecture in our works.

🤖 Autonomous Systems & Vehicle Security — With a strong focus on drones and other autonomous platforms, we explore how these technologies can be safeguarded against intrusion, manipulation, and misuse.

Our approach blends theoretical foundations with hands-on experimentation, real-world problem solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration to create research impact that resonates with industry, government, and global cybersecurity challenges.

Whether you are a prospective student, collaborator, industry partner, or visitor, we invite you to explore our work, learn about our latest projects, and join us in pushing the boundaries of secure, smart cyberspace.
