Dr. Cheng Yu is an assistant professor of construction engineering technology and is the coordinator of the construction engineering technology program. He has extensive research and teaching experiences in light framed construction, structural design, building information modeling, and risk management in construction. Dr. Yu is the founder of the Nuconsteel Materials Testing Lab at UNT's Discovery Park. His research interests are: innovative high-performance cold-formed steel shear walls for mid-rise construction; analytical models of wood-based shear panels; next generation design methodology for web cripping strength; sustainable engineering in buildings; loss control and prevention in construction; and advanced test bed for developing sustainable construction materials.
