For environmental monitoring and human safety, detection of toxic gases has received immense attention in recent times. Chemi-resistive type semiconducting oxide (SMO) gas sensors have a major market share in toxic gas sensing. The gas sensing performance of the SMO based sensor is primarily influenced by operating temperature and surface activity of the sensors material. This presentation will discuss and review the recent advancement of chemi-resistive gas sensors for the toxic and flammable gas monitoring. Furthermore, this presentation will provide an outline of the mechanism and the factors affecting higher and selective gas response.
Abhishek Ghosh received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2018. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research associate in Mechanical and Energy Engineering Department, University of North Texas, USA in the field of SAW sensors. His research interests include chemi-resistive thin film gas sensors, SAW sensors, graphene-based gas sensors, catalytic oxidation and fabrication of proto-type gas sensing module for real environmental gas sensing monitoring. Till date, he published ten peers reviewed papers and few papers are in the pipeline. He also delivered oral and poster presentation at various international conferences and symposiums.
