UNT Mean Green Racing

The SAE Team members Michael Goodman, Justin Burdine, Jarrett Lemke, Michael Bohrer, Reid Cloud from ETEC and Reed Greenwood from MEE participated at the June 18-21, 2014, SAE Formula competition in Lincoln, Nebraska, and did a truly outstanding job representing UNT with car #30. In our 2nd year competing and for two years in a row, out of 80 international teams UNT again exceeded all expectations of a still rookie team!  This year they were one of only 29 cars to complete the endurance event – something we did last year as well. The car performed flawlessly in every other event and placed 27th overall ahead of US teams from UT-Arlington, University of Michigan-Dearborn, RIT, University of IL – Urbana Champaign, Columbia University, University of Maryland – College Park, Purdue, LSU, USC, UCF, and international teams from Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Mexico, and United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Bob Hayes who accompanied the group to Lincoln, praises the team’s professional performance, timeliness, and demeanor throughout the competition.  It was a great experience for the students and an opportunity for them to continue to network professionally.  They surely put a spotlight on themselves and on UNT!
