Dear UNT Engineering alumni,
On Jan. 23, 2014, I attended the meeting of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in Austin. During the meeting, the Board approved the creation of a new Engineering department: the Department of Biomedical Engineering which will offer the BS and MS degrees. I am very happy with this accomplishment, which will help UNT Engineering continue to meet the needs of local industry and support the economic development of our region, our state, and our nation.
Biomedical Engineering is one of the fastest-growing fields in the U.S., and one of the degrees most sought after by Texas high school graduates. The addition of the new department and the new degree programs will strengthen UNT Engineering, enhance its reputation, and grow its impact on industry.
To continue to serve you better and to continue to keep you informed, I request that you fill out a survey that will provide us with information about your needs and wishes (we sent out this survey right before the holidays, so if you already filled it out, thank you so much!). The survey information can be found in the attached letter from your fellow alumni.
Best regards from UNT,
Dean and Professor
