Electrical engineers design systems that are powered by electronic circuits and microprocessors such as microwaves, televisions, computers, cellular phones, automobiles, airplanes, satellites and the space shuttle.

To be qualified as an electrical engineer, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. A master’s degree is considered the professional degree.

The terminology used in this document has the same connotations as specified in the ABET Criteria for Accrediting Engineering Programs.

Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing graduates to achieve.

Program outcomes are narrower statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation.

Undergraduate Programs of Study

Introduction:

The Department of Electrical Engineering offers a unique design- and project-oriented program at the Bachelor's level. This innovative curriculum introduces students to a learning-to-learn (L2L) cognitively based experience at the freshman level; the experience is reinforced in other courses throughout the program. Each semester, students enroll in a project-oriented industry-related course that is taught by full-time faculty as well as professionals recruited from nearby industries.
